About Chandika
He studied 3 years, management accounting and economics in Helsinki School of Economics. His enthusiasm as a workaholic took over and he has not yet graduated.
Chandika´s prior work was as a management consultant. After that he headed towards the IT sector, where he worked as a project manager for a software company. His responsibility was to manage the project where they built a web reservation platform for Holiday Club Resorts where they transferred all of their hotel and villa cabins to be reserved and paid over the internet.
In the past years, he has been working in Nextmesh SA. He has taken them to new markets in Northern America and to the United Arab Emirates, including largely the Middle Eastern market. Chandika responsibilities has been to be part of the team where they established the companies, hired and trained the team and negotiated the strategical partnership contracts with local investors and partners.
In addition to the work responsibilities he was a member of the board for Art Design City Helsinki Ltd for 10 years. Art and Design City Helsinki Ltd was a government owned company, which was responsible for coordinating the building of one of Helsinki City´s most distinguished urban city areas called Arabianranta. Chandika and the board build a strategy where the Living Lab concept was created to support the building blocks of the future. The idea was to combine the needs of the private sector companies, universities, entrepreneurs and private citizens and students who were living in Arabianranta. Chandika and the board visited both Shanghai during the World Expo and Soul during the years when they were honored the World Design Capital title.
